Kodim 0506/Tangerang merupakan satuan teritorial yang berada dibawah komando Korem 052/Wijayakrama dan termasuk kodim tipe A yang dipimpin oleh seorang perwira menengah dengan pangkat Kolonel. Wilayah teritorial Kodim 0506/Tangerang meliputi Kota Tangerang dan Kota Tangerang Selatan, sebelumnya wilayah teritorial Kodim 0506/Tangerang meliputi wilayah Kabupaten Tangerang yang kini telah terbentuk kodim tersendiri yaitu Kodim 0510/Tigaraksa.
