Kasih Kristus

Kasih Kristus adalah sebuah unsur utama keyakinan dan teologi Kekristenan dan Yahudi Mesianik.[1] Unsur tersebut merujuk kepada kasih Yesus Kristus untuk umat manusia, kasih umat Kristen untuk Kristus, dan kasih umat Kristen untuk orang lain.[2] Aspek tersebut berbeda dalam ajaran-ajaran Kristen—kasih untuk Kristus adalah sebuah perwujudan kasihnya untuk setiap orang.[3]

Tema kasih adalah unsur utama dalam penulisan Yohanes.[3] Ini dibuktikan dalam salah satu tulisan yang paling banyak dikutip dalam Alkitab (Yohanes 3:16) ” Karena begitu besar kasih Allah akan dunia ini, sehingga Ia telah mengaruniakan Anak-Nya yang tunggal, supaya setiap orang yang percaya kepada-Nya tidak binasa, melainkan beroleh hidup yang kekal.” Dalam Injil Yohanes, perikop Gembala Baik (Yohanes 10:1–21) melambangkan pengorbanan Yesus berdasarkan pada kasihnya untuk masyrakat. Dalam injil tersebut, kasih untuk Kristus dihasilkan dalam mengikuti perintah-perintahnya, Amanat Perpisahan (Yohanes 14:23) menyatakan: "Jika seorang mengasihi Aku, ia akan menuruti firman-Ku". Dalam Surat Yohanes yang Pertama (1 Yohanes 4:19), alam reflektif dari kasih tersebut disoroti: "Kita mengasihi, karena Allah lebih dahulu mengasihi kita", mengekspresikan kasih Kristus sebagai cerminan kasih Kristus sendiri. Menjelang akhir Perjamuan Terakhir, Yesus memberikan sebuah perintah baru kepada para murid-Nya: "kamu saling mengasihi; sama seperti Aku telah mengasihi kamu ... Dengan demikian semua orang akan tahu, bahwa kamu adalah murid-murid-Ku."[4][5]

Kasih Krisuts juga merupakan sebuah motif dalam Surat-surat Paulus.[6] Tema dasar dari Surat Paulus kepada Jemaat di Efesus adalah bahwa Allah Bapa menginisiasikan karya keselamatan melalui Kristus, yang berkehendak mengurbankan dirinya sendiri berdasarkan kasih-Nya dan ketaatan terhadap Bapa. Efesus 5:25 menyatakan "Kristus telah mengasihi jemaat dan telah menyerahkan diri-Nya baginya". Efesus 3:17–19 mengaitkan kasih Kristus dengan pengetahuan Kristus dan menganggap kasih Krisuts dibutuhkan untuk mengetahui-Nya.[7]
