Jack Russell Terrier (JRT) adalah ras anjing yang memiliki kemampuan eksplorasi dan berburu yang tinggi.[1] Ras anjing ini merupakan hasil persilangan yang dilakukan[2] oleh Parson John (Jack) Russel di Devonshire, Inggris.[1] Ketika Russel bersekolah di Oxford, dia meluangkan banyak waktu untuk berburu rubah.[1] Hal ini dilakukannnya dengan bantuan seekor terrier bernama Trump yang memiliki stamina prima, keberanian yang kuat, pintar, dan atletis.[1] Diperkirakan, Trump merupakan nenek moyang dari ras Jack Russell Terrier.[1]

Jack Russell Terrier banyak digemari pecinta anjing karena termasuk golongan anjing yang pintar, loyal, bersahabat dengan anak kecil, dan berenergi tinggi.[3] Namun, anjing ini dikenal agresif terhadap anjing lain ataupun hewan kecil, seperti hamster dan kucing.[3] Anjing ini memiliki tinggi sekitar 33–35 cm, dengan bulu berwarna dominan putih.[4] Ciri khas berupa lingkarang dengan warna hitam, coklat, atau kuning biasanya sering menghiasi bagian kepala dan ekor dari JRT.[4] Umumnya, ada dua macam tipe bulu pada JRT, yaitu halus (memiliki panjang 1-1.5 cm) dan kasar (kesat namun lebih padat), serta dapat pula terjadi campuran antara kedua macam bulu tersebut.[5] Bagian ekor dari anjing ini cenderung tegak ke atas dan berukuran pendek (sekitar 5 inci).[5]
