Etimologi

Bintang ini bernama tradisional Propus, yang berarti "kaki depan" dalam bahasa Latin. Bintang ini juga disebut Yin-Yang dalam bahasa China (Yin untuk α Gem untuk dan Yang untuk β Gem) yang berarti prinsip keseimbangan alam semesta. Nama lainnya untuk bintang ini adalah:
