Gale Sondergaard (nee Edith Holm Sondergaard; 15 Februari 1899 – 14 Agustus 1985) adalah seorang aktris Amerika.

Sondergaard memulai karier aktingnya di teater dan berkembang ke film pada tahun 1936. Dia adalah penerima pertama Academy Award untuk Aktris Pendukung Terbaik untuk debut filmnya di Anthony Adverse (1936). Dia secara teratur memainkan peran pendukung dalam film selama akhir 1930-an dan 1940-an, termasuk The Cat and the Canary (1939), The Mark of Zorro (1940) dan The Letter (1940). Untuk perannya dalam Anna and the King of Siam (1946), ia dinominasikan untuk Penghargaan Akademi Aktris Pendukung Terbaik keduanya. Setelah akhir 1940-an, pekerjaan layarnya tiba-tiba berhenti selama 20 tahun berikutnya.

Menikah dengan sutradara Herbert Biberman, Sondergaard mendukungnya ketika dia dituduh komunisme dan dinobatkan sebagai salah satu Hollywood Ten pada awal 1950-an. Dia pindah bersama Biberman ke New York City dan bekerja di teater, dan kadang-kadang berakting di film dan televisi dari akhir 1960-an. Dia pindah kembali ke Los Angeles di mana dia meninggal karena serebrovaskular trombosis.
