Black Nazarene

Black Nazarene adalah sebuah patung Yesus seukuran manusia yang sedang berlutut, berkulit gelap dan sedang memikul salib berwarna hitam yang sangat diagungkan di Filipina. Patung tersebut dibawa pada abad ke-16 dari Meksiko dengan kapal galeon pada tahun 1606 oleh misionaris Spanyol. Kapal yang membawanya terbakar, namun patung hangus tersebut selamat. Banyak umat Katolik percaya bahwa ketahanan patung tersebut, dari kebakaran dan gempa bumi selama berabad-abad serta pengeboman besar selama Perang Dunia II, merupakan bukti kekuatan ajaibnya.[1]
