Bank Barclays Indonesia

Bank Barclays Indonesia adalah perusahaan di bidang jasa keuangan berjenis perbankan di Indonesia. Bank ini mengambil alih Bank Akita yang telah berdiri pada 1990.

Sejarah

Bank Akita dibeli Barclays Capital pada 2008. Sebelumnya, Bank Akita dimiliki Daniel Gunawan, Basuki Kumala dan PT Orix Indo Finance.

Pada Januari 2009, resmi berubah nama menjadi Bank Barclays Indonesia, namun Barclays berencana menutup bisnis ritelnya di Indonesia, termasuk Bank Barclays Indonesia sekitar 14 bulan setelah pengubahan nama.

Bank Indonesia mengatakan,bahwa bank yang diambil asing,paling lama dirawat sekitar 5 tahun. Hingga dipilih opsi, dirawat atau ditutup. Di ambilah keputusan, Barclays Capital merawat bank ini, hingga 5 tahun. Meskipun kini bank ini dalam status Nonaktif, bank ini masih ada.
