背景

2019年5月，JYP娛樂接受媒體採訪提到ITZY的新專輯正在製作，成員們正在為7月的回歸作練習準備[3][4]。

ITZY首張迷你專輯的名稱於7月10日公佈，名為《IT'z ICY》，而團體將在同月29日回歸[5][6]。12日公開了專輯的曲目表[7]。

7月29日下午6點，正式發行迷你專輯《IT'z ICY》，同日下午8點，舉行回歸SHOWCASE[8][9]。

製作

《IT'z ICY》是ITZY首張迷你專輯，專輯共收錄〈ICY〉〈CHERRY〉〈IT'z SUMMER〉等3首新曲和重新Remix的〈DALLA DALLA〉和〈WANT IT?〉，共5首歌曲[7][10]。

主打歌〈ICY〉是首放克風格的時尚舞曲，歌曲表現ITZY不受他人影響做自己的自信感。〈ICY〉的詞曲由JYP娛樂創辦人朴軫永負責，除了朴軫永，還找來PENOMECO參與Rap製作[7][10]，成員們的歌曲段落皆由朴軫永指定[8]。

《IT'z ICY》首週銷量32,416份，成為Hanteo週榜單第4名[13]。7月份，專輯共售出77,109張，成為韓國Gaon專輯月榜第9名[14]。

在國外，《IT'z ICY》獲得日本Oricon公信榜專輯榜上第12名[15]，與美國《告示牌》世界專輯榜12名[16]。

評價

截至2019年8月10日，在豆瓣音樂上根據1014人的評價獲得了5.7分的評價[17]。thebiaslist給予〈ICY〉8.75分，〈ICY〉雖然整體表現良好，但需要更保守的演出來平衡瘋狂的器樂[18]。LWOS life評論者Jack Wannan表示自己沒有很喜歡這張專輯，但認為歌曲都有不錯的品質[19]。
