بے آف پلینٹی فارم لینڈز 2014ء

بے آف پلینٹی (ماؤری: Te Moana-a-Toi)‏ نیوزی لینڈ کا ایک خطہ ہے جو شمالی جزیرے کے شمالی ساحل میں اسی نام کے ایک بائٹ کے ارد گرد واقع ہے۔ روشنی 260 تک پھیلی ہوئی ہے۔ مغرب میں جزیرہ نما کورومینڈیل سے مشرق میں کیپ رن وے تک کلومیٹر۔ بے آف پلینٹی ریجن ، خلیج آف پلینٹی ریجنل کونسل کے زیر انتظام، مین لینڈ کے علاقے کے علاوہ خلیج میں کئی بڑے جزیروں کو شامل کرتا ہے۔ ابتدائی آبا و اجداد توئی کے بعد ماوری زبان میں Te Moana-a-Toi (Toi کا سمندر) کہلاتا ہے، یہ نام جیمز کک نے 1769ء میں دیا جب اس نے وہاں کے کئی ماوری دیہاتوں میں خوراک کی وافر مقدار دیکھی۔, ان مشاہدات کے بالکل برعکس جو اس نے پہلے Poverty Bay میں کیے تھے۔

تاریخ

مقامی ماوری روایات کے مطابق بے آف پلینٹی کئی نقل مکانی کینو کا لینڈنگ پوائنٹ تھا جو ماوری کے آباد کاروں کو نیوزی لینڈ لے کر آیا۔ ان میں ماتاتوا، نوکوٹیرے، تاکیتیمو، اروا۔ اور تائینوئی کینو شامل ہیں۔ نسل کے بہت سے لوگ خطے میں اپنے روایتی آبائی وطن ( روہے ) کو برقرار رکھتے ہیں، بشمول Te Whānau -ā-Apanui ، Te Whakatōhea ، Ngāi Tai ، Ngāi Tūhoe ، Ngāti Awa ، Ngāti Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau، Te Whānau-ā-Apanui، Te Wāgāi Nāgāti Ranawa. اور Ngati Pūkenga . [1] ماوری نے خلیج Te Moana-a-Toi (Toi کا سمندر) کا نام Toi کے نام پر رکھا، جو ماتاتوا قبائل کے ابتدائی آبا و اجداد تھے۔ [1] ماوری کی ابتدائی آباد کاری نے آج کل استعمال ہونے والے بہت سے قصبوں اور شہر کے ناموں کو جنم دیا۔
