Військова сила

Військова сила — сукупність засобів збройного примусу, які доступні державам та іншим суб'єктам міжнародної політики для реалізації їх зовнішньополітичних та внутрішньополітичних цілей.[1][2]

У широкому значенні військова сила — це здатність суб'єкта міжнародних відносин впливати на інші суб'єкти та міжнародну обстановку через демонстрацію своїх військових можливостей (непрямо) або пускаючи в хід свій арсенал засобів збройного насильства (безпосередньо) [1] . Вона може бути використана як для захисту суспільства (народу, держави), так проектування своєї політичної волі зовні; як у формі безпосереднього залучення, так і у вигляді потенційної загрози.[2]

Військова сила об'єднує збройні сили, державні органи та військові організації, створені державою або політичними партіями та громадськими рухами.[2] Акумулюючи в собі весь політичний, економічний, технічний, соціальний і духовний потенціал країни вона є складно структурованою системою в якій військові організації та державні інститути грають роль скріплюючих ланок.[1]

Протягом усього розвитку людської цивілізації військова сила вважалася найважливішим історичним чинником та концентрованим виразом могутності окремих політичних суб'єктів. Саме вона окреслювала характер їхніх взаємин та їхні справжні позиції у світовій політиці.[1]

У даний час статут Організації Об'єднаних Націй (ООН) визнає використання військової сили виправданим та правомірним з метою самооборони та при виконанні рішень Ради Безпеки ООН у випадках актів агресії та при загрозі миру.[2]
