VIII — XV гасырларда ацтеклар йогынтысында була.[7][8] 1521 елда испаннар керә, Испания яулап алганнан соң территория Мехико аудиенциясенең бер өлешен тәшкил итә, ул башта элекке ацтек империясе провинцияләреннән торган һәм соңрак Яңа Испания вице-корольлеге составына керә.[7]

1849 елның 27 октябреннән Герреро штаты составында.[7]
