Bir ilaç imalatçısı, FDA tarafından denetlenirken

İlaç endüstrisi, hastalıkları iyileştirmek, önlemek veya semptomları hafifletmek amacıyla hastalara uygulanacak ilaç olarak kullanılmak üzere farmasötik ilaçları keşfeden, geliştiren, üreten ve pazarlayan bir tıp endüstrisidir.[1] İlaç şirketleri jenerik veya markalı ilaçlar ve tıbbi cihazlarla uğraşabilir. İlaçların patentlenmesini, test edilmesini, güvenliğini, ilaç testi kullanımının etkinliğini ve pazarlanmasını düzenleyen çeşitli yasa ve düzenlemelere tabidirler.
