Yavaş sinema

Yavaş sinema, bir sanat filmi türü. Minimalist bir yaklaşım ile çekilen uzun sahneler ve çok az diyalog barındırması türün belirgin özellikleri arasında sayılabilir. Bu tür filmlerde, aksiyon filmlerinde olduğu gibi kamera ile seri hareketler yapılmaz, yavaş kamera hareketleri ve geçişler tercih edilir. Andrey Tarkovski, Béla Tarr, Michelangelo Antonioni gibi yönetmenler bu türün öncüsü sayılır.

Türkiye'de Nuri Bilge Ceylan ve Semih Kaplanoğlu bu türde filmler üreten yönetmenler arasındadır.[1]
