The Sims 3: Into The Future, stratejik yaşam simülasyon oyunu olan The Sims 3'ün on birinci ve son genişletme paketidir. Maxis tarafından geliştirildi ve 22 Ekim 2013'te Kuzey Amerika'da Electronic Arts tarafından yayınlandı.[3] Microsoft Windows ve OS X platformları için Avrupa'da 24 Ekim 2013'te, Birleşik Krallık'ta ise 25 Ekim 2013'te piyasaya sürüldü.[4]

Oynanış

Genişleme paketi gelecek temasınadır. Oyuncular, yaşadıkları arazinin yanına gelen bir zaman makinesi aracılığı ile geleceğe gidebilirler. Gelecekte "Oasis Landing" adlı fütüristik bir dünyaya ışınlanırlar.[5]

SimBot'lara benzer Plumbot robotlar (The Sims 2 oyunundaki SimBot'lar ve Servo'lara da benzer) genişleme paketinin ana özelliğidir. Robotlar özelleştirilebilir ve Create a Bot ekranında detaylı olarak düzenlenebilir. Oyuncular, yetenek çiplerini özelleştirerek robotları kullanabilir, istedikleri karakteristik özelliği ekleyebilir. Sırt roketleri, elektrikli kaykaylar, monoraylar ve uçan arabalar da Into the Future ile oyuna eklenen yeni ulaşım mekanikleridir. Astronom ve bot satıcısı oyuna yeni eklenen kariyelerdir. Holografik televizyonlar, yemek birleştiricileri, bot yapma mağazaları ve yeni enstürman olarak ritim lazerleri oyuna eklenen yeni objelerdir.[6]

Sim'ler aynı zamanda gelecekteki aile ağaçlarını da görebilirler ve bir Sim geçmişe gidip bu aile ağacını değiştirebilir.[7]

Geliştirme

8 Ocak 2013'te Electronic Arts'ın canlı yayınında ortaya çıkan bilgilere göre gelecek temalı bir genişleme paketinin erken aşamalarında olduğu ortaya çıktı.[8]
