Türkiye ve Uyum Araştırmaları Merkezi Vakfı

Türkiye ve Uyum Araştırmaları Merkezi, Almanya'nın Essen kentinde bulunan, Kuzey Ren-Vestfalya eyaleti tarafından işletilen bir devlet vakfıdır. Vakıf, Almanya, Türkiye ve Avrupa'daki göç ve uyum araştırmalarını, Türkiye ile Almanya arasında bilim insanlarının değişimini teşvik eden bir bilimsel araştırma kuruluşudur.

Vakıf

Merkez, 1985 yılında bir numune olarak kuruldu. 1991 yılında Türkiye Araştırmaları Merkezi Derneği adıyla bir dernek statüsü, 2001 yılında da Türkiye Araştırmaları Merkezi Vakfı adıyla bir vakıf statüsü kazandı. Vakfın başkanlığı, Kuzey Ren-Vestfalya eyaleti çocuk, aile, mülteciler ve uyum bakanı sıfatıyla Serap Güler yürütmektedir.

Eyalet hükûmetini ve diğer kurumları bilgilendirme amacıyla kurulmuş, Birleşmiş Milletler 'Ekonomik ve Sosyal Konseyi" (Economic and Social Council) bünyesinde danışmanlık yapan, sivil toplum örgütüdür. Merkezin başkanı Kuzey Ren Vesfalya eyaleti aile, Kadın ve Entegrasyon Bakanı Armin Laschet'tir. 1985 yılında dönemin Almanya başkenti Bonn'da Türkiye Araştırmalar Merkezi Vakfı(Zentrum für Türkeistudien e.V.) adı ile kurulmuş, 1991 yılında ise Essen'e taşınmıştır. 1999 yılından beri Berlin'de de bir şubesi bulunmaktadır. Kurucu müdürü olan Faruk Şen 2008 yılında emekliliğinden önce, vakıftan ayrılma durumunda bırakıldı. Şen, 9 Türkün yanarak yaşamını yitirdiği Ludwigshafen Yangını 'nın ardından, bir Türk gazetesinde yayınlanan ve Almanya Türklerinin yaşadıklarını, geçmişte Yahudilere uygulanan Nazi politikalarıyla kıyaslayan yorumu nedeniyle, 23 yıl süre ile kurucusu ve yöneticisi olduğu merkezdeki görevine son verildi.

Türkiye ve Uyum Araştırmaları Merkezi, Almanya Federal Cumhuriyeti'nin icraatlarına uygun olarak siyâsî gelişmeler ve ülkenin yabancılara ilişkin politikaları ile ilgili ekonomi ve sosyal bilimler alanında araştırmalar yapar, kongre ve seminerler düzenler. İlgi alanları Türkiye'deki sosyal ve ekonomik gelişmeler, Orta Asya ve Balkanların yanı sıra Türkiye'nin komşu ülkelerle ve Avrupa Birliği ile ilişkilerinin yanı sıra Almanya ve Avrupa ülkelerinde göç araştırmalarıdır.
