NGC 1601, Yeni Genel Katalog'da yer alan bir galaksidir. Gökyüzünde Tay takımyıldızı yönünde bulunur. S0 tipi bir merceksi galaksidir. İngiliz astronom William Parsons tarafından 1849 yılında 182,88 cm (72 inç) çaplı aynalı tip bir teleskopla keşfedilmiştir.[4]
