Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson (d. 19 Aralık 1967), 11 Ocak 2017'den bu yana Dışişleri Bakanı olarak görev yapan İzlandalı bir politikacı.[1]

İlk yılları ve eğitimi

Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, 1996 yılında İzlanda Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi bölümünden mezun oldu.[1]

Siyasi kariyeri

Guðlaugur, Bağımsızlık Partisi'ne 1987'de katıldı ve 1997-1993 başkan yardımcısı ve 1993-1997 genel başkanlığını yaptığı 1997'ye kadar görev yaptığı Bağımsızlık Partisi Ulusal Gençlik Örgütü yönetim kurulunda seçildi. Daha sonra 1998 yılında Reykjavik Şehir Konseyi'ne seçildi ve orada dört yıl görev aldı. 2003-2006 refah konularında parlamento komitesine, 2003-2007 balıkçılık komitesine ve 2003-2007 çevre komitesinde görev yaptı. 2003'ten beri Bağımsızlık Partisi'nin Althing (İzlanda parlamentosu) üyesidir ve 24 Mayıs 2007 - 1 Şubat 2009 tarihleri arasında Sağlık Bakanı olarak görev yapmıştır.

Gudlaugur, 2003-2009 yılları arasında Kuzey Reykjavík'i temsil etti. 2009 seçimlerinde ise Güney Reykjavik'i temsil etti.

11 Ocak 2017'den bu yana İzlanda Dışişleri Bakanı olarak görev yapmaktadır. [kaynak belirtilmeli]

Guðlaugur, İzlanda'nın Avrupa Birliği üyeliğine karşı çıkıyor.[2][3] İzlanda'nın Avrupa Ekonomik Alanı üyeliğini güçlü bir şekilde destekliyor ve faydalarının önemine dikkat çekiyor.[4][5]

Gudlaugur evlidir ve dört çocuk babasıdır.[1]
