Grand Turk Adası, Turks ve Caicos Adaları başkenti Cockburn Town'ın üzerinde bulunduğu ada. Ada, Turks ve Caicos Adaları dâhilinde Birleşik Krallık'a bağlıdır. 18 kilometrekarelik alanıyla Turks Adalarındaki (Caicos dahil değil) en büyük adadır. Bölgenin tarihî, kültürel, finansal ve yönetimsel merkezi konumundaki ada JAGS McCartney Uluslararası Havalimanını da barındırmaktadır. Ada dev transatlantiklerin Karayipler'den düzenlenen turlar sırasında sıkça uğradığı bir yer değildir. Grand Turk turizm yolu ile dünyaya daha yeni açılmaktadır. Bazı gemiler Doğu Karayip gezilerine bu adayı dâhil etmeye başlamıştır. Adada eski bir deniz feneri ile 19'uncu yüzyıldan kalma bir hapishane vardır. Adını şekli Türk fesine benzeyen Melocactus[1] adlı kaktüsten aldığı söylenmektedir.[2] Ancak daha sonra bunun doğru olmadığı adaya Türk adının verilirken daha Türklerin fes giymediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Yapılan son araştırmalara göre adanın keşfinin denizci bir Türk olan Kemal-i Hasan tarafından yapıldığı ancak daha sonra burada koloni kuran İngilizlerin kâşifinin isminin ne olduğunu bilmeyip yalnızca milliyetini bildiği için adaların adını Türk adaları koyduğu düşünülmektedir
