Gaius Claudius Marcellus Minor

Gaius Claudius Marcellus Minor, (d. MÖ 88 - Mayıs MÖ 40) Romanın soylu ve eski ailelerinden Claudiusların mensubu ve Konsül Marcus Claudius Marcellus'un akrabası olan politikacı. Aynı adı taşıyan babası Marcus, annesi Junia'dır.

Marcellus, Jül Sezar'ın yeğeni ve Octavian'ın kız kardeşi Küçük Octavia ile evlendi. Bu evlilikten her ikisinin de adı Claudia Marcella olan Roma'da doğmuş iki kız ve Marcus adında, Baiae'de doğmuş olan bir oğlan dünyaya gelmiştir.

MÖ 54 yılında Sezar'ın da teşvikiyle Octavia Marcellus'tan boşandı ve böylece, Sezar'ın en büyük rakibi ve aynı zamanda ölen kızı Julia ile evliliğinden dolayı eski damadı olan Pompey ile evlenebilmesinin yolu açılmış oldu. Ancak Pompey bu teklifi açıkça reddetti ve Octavia'nın kocası Sezar'a olan muhalefetine devam ettirdi. Bu muhalefet, Marcellus'un MÖ 50 yılındaki konsüllüğü sırasında Roma Cumhuriyetini kurtarmak bahanesi ile Sezar'ı 10 yıllık Galya valiliğinden iki yıl erken ve ordusu olmaksızın geri çağırması ile doruk noktasına ulaştı. Ancak Sezar geri gelmediği için görevden alınması girişimi başarısız oldu. Marcellus aynı zamanda muhalefeti ile Sezar'ın in absentia,(gıyabında) olarak ikinci kez konsül seçilmesini engelledi. Nihayet Sezar MÖ 49 yılında İtalya'yı işgal ettiği zaman, Marcellus, kardeşi ve yeğeninden farklı olarak silahlarına sarılmadı. Sonradan Sezar tarafından affedildi.

MÖ 47 yılında yeğeni ve adaşı, eski konsül Gaius Claudius Marcellus Maior'un sürgüne gönderilmesi konusunda Sezar ile arasında arabuluculuk yaptı. MÖ 40 yılı Mayıs ayında öldü. Dul karısı beş ay sonra Marcus Antonius ile evlendi. Romalı senatör ve hatip Cicero'nun arkadaşıydı. Romalı general Publius Quinctilius Varus ve iki kızkardeşi, ilk evliğinden dolayı torunlarıdır.
