2. Palaeoloxodon cinsi altında sınıflandırılabilitr.
3. Lophodontinae/Rhynchotheriinae alt familyası bazı yazarlar tarafından Gomphothereiidae familyasında sınıflandırılırken, diğerleri gerçek Elephantidae olarak sınıflandırır.
