İslam'da resim

İslam dini, müminlere helal ve haram işleri bildirmiştir. Resim ve heykel meselesindeki İslam dini hükümleri Kur'an ve hadislere dayandırılır.

Emeviler döneminde yapılan Kuseyr Amra ve çöl saraylarında, fresklerde ve stuko heykellerde müstehcen tasvirlerin bulunduğu görülmektedir.[1] El-Harîrî'nin makamatlarının 13. yüzyıldan kalma yazmalarında da müstehcen minyatürlerin bulunduğu belirtilmektedir.[2] Bahname adı verilen kitaplarda müstehcen hikâyelere ve minyatürlere yer verildiği de ifade edilmektedir.[3] Halife olarak görülen bazı Osmanlı padişahlarının albümlerinde müstehcen minyatürlerin bulunduğu belirtilir.[4]
