Si Sobek (o Sebek, Sochet, Sobk, Sobki, Soknopais), at sa Griyego ay Suchos (Σοῦχος) ang pagsasadiyos ng mga buwaya dahil ang mga buwaya ay malalim na kinatatakutan sa Sinaunang Ehipto na labis na nakasalalay sa Ilog Nilo. Ang mga Sinaunang Ehipsiyo na nagtrabaho o naglakbay sa Ilog Nilo ay umaasa na kapag sila ay nanalangin kay Sobey, ang diyos na buwaya ay mag-iingat sa kanila mula sa mga pag-atake ng mga buwaya.[1]

Ang diyos na si Sobek na inilalarawan bilang isang buwaya o tao na may ulo ng buwaya ay isang makapangyarihan at nakakatakot na diyos. Sa ilang mga mitong paglikha na Ehipsiyo, si Sobek ang unang lumabas sa mga katubigan ng kaguluhan upang lumikha ng daigdig.[1] Bilang isang manlilikhang diyos, siya ay minsang inuugnay sa diyos-araw na si Ra. [1]
