Ang Moa ay siyam na sarihay (sa anim na genera) ng mga walang katapusang mga ibon na walang katapusan na walang katapusan sa New Zealand. Ang dalawang pinakamalaking species, Dinornis robustus at Dinornis novaezelandiae, ay umabot ng tungkol sa 3.6 m (12 piye) na taas na may leeg na nakabuka, at may timbang na mga 230 kg (510 lb). Tinataya na, nang ang mga Polinesyo ay nanirahan sa New Zealand sa 1280, ang populasyon ng moa ay halos 58,000.

Ang Moa ay kabilang sa kaayusan ng Dinornithiformes, ayon sa kaugalian na inilagay sa grupo ng mga ratite.
