Ang Megatherium (/mɛɡəˈθɪəriəm/ meg-ə-THEER-ee-əm; mula sa Griyego méga (μέγα) 'talaan' + theríon (θηρίον) 'hayop') ay isang henero ng ground sloth endemik sa South America na nabuhay mula sa Pliocene sa pagtatapos ng Pleistocene. Kilala ito sa uri ng uri ng elepante na M. americanum, kung minsan ay tinatawag na giant ground sloth, o ang megathere, na katutubong sa Pampas hanggang sa timog Bolivia noong Pleistocene. Ang Megatherium ay unang natuklasan noong 1788 sa pampang ng ilog Luján sa Argentina.
