Base ang pamilya ng tipo ng titik sa Style Type E ng mga tipo ng titik ng Seryyeng FHWA, isang pang-karatulang alpabeto para sa Federal Highway Administration sa Estados Unidos na ginawa ni Dr. Theodore W. Forbes noong 1949.
