Ang DXSS (97.9 FM) ay isang himpilan ng radyo na pagmamay-ari ng Southern Broadcasting Network. Ang estudyo at transmiter nito ay matatagpuan sa SBN Compound, Broadcast Ave., Shrine Hills, Brgy. Matina Crossing, Lungsod ng Davao. Ito ay ang kauna-unahang himpilan sa FM sa lungsod.[1][2][3]

Kasaysayan

Itinatag ang DXSS noong 1977 na may album rock na format. Noong panahong iyon, kaanib ito ng GMA Network.[4]

Noong 1995, nung kumalas ang SBN sa GMA, mulng inilunsad ang himpilang ito bilang Music Now na may Adult Top 40 na format.

Noong 2002, naging Mom's Radio 97.9 ito na may format na nagsisilbi para sa mga babae, lalo na sa mga nanay.

Noong 2010, naging DXSS muli ito na tumutugtog lamang ng iba't ibang musika.

Noong Nobyembre 2015, bumalik sa ere ang Mom's Radio, na sumahimpapawid ito mula sa Maynila sa ilalim ng pamamahala ng Estima, Inc. Noong Pebrero 25, 2018, nawala ulit ito sa ere dahil sa problemang pangpinansyal.[5]

Noong Hunyo 2022, kinuha ng Y2H Broadcasting Network ang mga operasyon ng himpilang at ginawa itong XFM na may halong musika at balita sa format nito. Una itong nagsilbing riley ng 100.7 FM na nakabase sa Tagum.

Noong Oktubre 4, 2022, nagpalit ng estudyo ang XFM Davao at XFM Tagum, na ginawang riley hanggang 2023. Muli ito inilunsad Oktubre 19.

Noong unang bahagi ng 2023, nagsimulang umere Newsline Evening News ng Newsline Philippines tuwing gabi.

Noong Mayo 23, 2026, inilipat ang XFM sa 89.1 FM na pagmamay-ari ng Quest Broadcasting pagkatapos mag-expire ang airtime lease agreement sa SBN. Ang nasabing frequency noon ay nag-broadcast bilang Solid FM. Bilang resulta, nag-off-air ang istasyon na ito sa pangalawang pagkakataon.
