Ang carob (Ceratonia siliqua) ay isang namumungang puno sa subpamilyang Caesalpinioideae ng pamilyang legume na Fabaceae. Ito ay malawakang itinatanim dahil sa makakain nitong bunga at bilang palamauting puno. Ito ay katutubo sa Mediterraneo at Gitnang Silangan.[1][2] Ang Portugal ang pinakamalaking prodyuser nito na sinundan ng Italya at Morocco.

Sa Mediterranean Basin hanggang sa baybaying Atlantiko ng Portugal (i.e., the Algarve region) at hilagang kanlurang baybayin ng Morroco, ang bunga ng carob ay ginagamit bilang pagkain ng hayop at taggutom.[3] Ang hinogl tuyo at minsang tinutusta ay karaniwang pinupulbos na minsang ginagamit bilangersatz pulbos na cocoa.[4] Ang pulbos at chips nito ay ginagamit bilang alternatibo sa tsokolate sa maraming mga sahog.
