ในช่วงเช้าตรู่ของวันที่ 14 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2564 เวลา 02:54 NST (UTC+8) เกิดเหตุเพลิงไหม้ในอาคารสูง 13 ชั้นในเขตหยานเฉิง นครเกาสฺยง ทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของประเทศไต้หวัน มีผู้เสียชีวิต 46 ราย และบาดเจ็บ 41 ราย เพลิงสงบลงหลังการดับเพลิงดำเนินไปกว่าสี่ชั่วโมงครึ่ง สาเหตุการเกิดเพลิงไหม้ยังเป็นที่สอบสวนอยู่ เหตุเพลิงไหม้นี้เป็นเหตุเพลิงไหม้ที่ร้ายแรงที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์ของเกาสฺยง และเป็นเหตุเพลิงไหม้ที่ร้ายแรงที่สุดในประเทศไต้หวันนับตั้งแต่ปี 1995 ซึ่งเกิดเหตุเพลิงไหม้ในร้านคาราโอเกะ มีผู้เสียชีวิต 64 ราย[2][3] และเป็นเหตุเพลิงไหม้ที่มีผู้เสียชีวิตสูงสุดอันดับสามในประวัติศาสตร์ไต้หวัน
