เทศบาลตำบลบ้านโคก ตั้งอยู่ที่ อำเภอโคกโพธิ์ไชย จังหวัดขอนแก่น ครอบคลุมพื้นที่บางส่วนของตำบลบ้านโคก อำเภอโคกโพธิ์ไชย และเป็นพื้นที่ตั้งของศูนย์ราชการประจำอำเภอโคกโพธิ์ไชย อาทิเช่น ที่ว่าการอำเภอ สถานีตำรวจ โรงพยาบาล เป็นต้น ห่างจากตัวจังหวัดประมาณ 72 กิโลเมตร และห่างจากกรุงเทพมหานครประมาณ 388 กิโลเมตร โดยมีสภาพพื้นที่ทั่วไปเป็นที่ราบลุ่มแม่น้ำ ทิศเหนือเป็นที่ราบสูงติดภูเขา และมีแหล่งน้ำขนาดใหญ่

ประวัติ

เทศบาลตำบลบ้านโคก แต่เดิมเป็น สุขาภิบาลบ้านโคก โดยครอบคลุมพื้นที่ตำบลบ้านโคก ซึ่งเป็นตำบลหนึ่งในเขตการปกครองอำเภอมัญจาคีรี ต่อมาเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2537 ได้มีการจัดตั้งกิ่งอำเภอโคกโพธิ์ไชย อำเภอมัญจาคีรี จึงทำให้สุขาภิบาลบ้านโคกโอนมาอยู่ในเขตปกครองของกิ่งอำเภอโคกโพธิ์ไชย

ต่อมาเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2542 สุขาภิบาลบ้านโคก ได้รับการเปลี่ยนแปลงฐานะเป็น เทศบาลตำบลบ้านโคก จนปัจจุบัน[1]

เทศบาลตำบลบ้านโคกครอบคลุมพื้นที่บางส่วนของตำบลบ้านโคก เฉพาะบางหมู่บ้าน ได้แก่

  • หมู่ 7 บ้านโคก
  • หมู่ 8 บ้านโคกสง่า
