ละครจักร ๆ วงศ์ ๆ เป็นชื่อเรียกละครโทรทัศน์ไทยที่ว่ากันว่าเกือบทั้งหมดมาจากนิทานพื้นบ้าน เล่ากันแบบปากต่อปากหรือมุขปาฐะ จะแตกต่างกันในรายละเอียดที่คนเล่าสอดแทรกสิ่งที่ตัวเองรู้ในแต่ละท้องถิ่น มักมีโครงเรื่องคล้าย ๆ กัน เช่น เจ้าชายพลัดพรากจากบ้านเมือง ต้องออกเดินทางผจญภัย พบนางเอก และต่อสู่กับตัวร้ายซึ่งส่วนมากคือยักษ์ หรืออาจมีเนื้อหาในเชิง พระเอกถูกใส่ร้ายเป็นตัวกาลกิณีบ้านเมือง ต้องถูกเนรเทศเข้าป่า ได้เรียนวิชากับพระอาจารย์หรือฤๅษี ก่อนมาเจอกับนางเอก และกลับมากอบกู้บ้านเมืองสำเร็จ[1] กล่าวคือมีเนื้อหา "เรียนวิชา-ฆ่ายักษ์-ลักนาง" เป็นส่วนใหญ่[2]

ในสมัยก่อนจะทำเป็นภาพยนตร์ เรียกว่า หนังจักร ๆ วงศ์ ๆ ใช้ฟิล์ม 16 มม. แต่ต่อมาเปลี่ยนมาเป็นการอัดวิดีโอ และเปลี่ยนมาเป็นละครจักร ๆ วงศ์ ๆ ทางโทรทัศน์ แล้วจึงมาเป็นละครพื้นบ้าน ซึ่งเป็นละครลักษณะเดียวกัน

ในปัจจุบัน ดีด้า วิดีโอ โปรดักชั่น เป็นผู้ผลิตละครค่ายเดียวเท่านั้นที่ผลิตละครจักร ๆ วงศ์ ๆ ผ่านทางช่อง 7 เอชดี โดยผลิตในนามสามเศียร[1][3]

ในสมัยนั้นในช่วงที่มีการแข่งขันในด้านละครจักร ๆ วงศ์ ๆ ทั้ง 6 ช่องรายการ มักจะแข่งขันกันที่เวลา ฐานการรับชม และการออกอากาศเป็นส่วนใหญ่ แต่ในปัจจุบันนี้เหลือเพียงช่อง 7 เอชดีเท่านั้นที่ยังออกอากาศละครจักร ๆ วงศ์ ๆ อยู่ ส่วนช่องที่เหลือได้ยุติการออกอากาศไปแล้วเนื่องจากฐานการรับชมมีน้อย

  • นักแสดงละครจักร ๆ วงศ์ ๆ ที่สร้างสีสันให้กับละครทุกเรื่อง คือ น้าผี ซึ่งจะพบได้เป็นบางเรื่อง และเสียงประจำตัวละครคือเสียงระนาด ซึ่งเป็นเสียงจากการขยับของโครงกระดูกจนมีเสียงระนาดขึ้น นอกจากนั้น น้าผีมักจะใช้ใบบัวใบใหญ่แทนการใช้ร่ม เป็นตัวละครให้เพิ่มสีสันให้ผู้ชม[4]
