அணைக்கரை என்ற கிராமம் தமிழ்நாட்டில், தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டத்தில், திருவிடைமருதூர் தாலுக்காவின் கீழ் உள்ள ஒரு கிராம பஞ்சாயத்தாகும்.[1] காவேரி ஆற்றின் நடுவில் உள்ள ஒரு தீவாகிய இந்த கிராமத்தில் இருபுறமும் ஒரு கிலோமீட்டர் நீளம் கொண்ட இரண்டு முக்கிய பாலங்களால் இணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

19 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் சர் ஆர்தர் கோட்டனால் காவேரியின் முக்கிய துணை நதியான கொள்ளிடத்திற்கு குறுக்கே கட்டப்பட்ட கீழணை (அணைக்கரை), கல்லனையை பிரதிபலிப்பதாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது. 2000 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட குடும்பங்கள் அணைக்கரை பகுதியில் விவசாயம் மற்றும் மீன் பிடிப்பதை தொழிலாக கொண்டு வாழ்கின்றனர். இந்தப் பகுதி ஆற்று மீன்களுக்காக அறியப்படுகிறது.

ஸ்ரீவில்லியாண்டவர் சுவாமி (அய்யனார்) கோயில் அணைக்கரைக்கு மேற்கே அமைந்துள்ளது. இது சோழ பேரரசால் கட்டப்பட்டது.
