Dame Shirley Veronica Bassey, DBE (* 8. január 1937, Cardiff, Wales, Spojené kráľovstvo)[1] je waleská speváčka.

Svoju profesionálnu kariéru začala v roku 1953, kedy spievala vo varietnom predstavení Memories of Jolson.[2] Svoj prvý album nazvaný Born to Sing the Blues vydala v roku 1957 na značke Philips Records, nasledovalo viac než tridsať ďalších albumov. Nahrala titulné piesne pre tri filmy o Jamesovi Bondovi, konkrétne Goldfinger (1964), Diamanty sú večné (1971) a Moonraker (1979).[3][4][5]

V januári 1959 sa stala prvou waleskou umeleckou osobnosťou so singlom na 1. mieste britskej Top 10.[6]

V roku 1977 získala Brit Award ako najlepšia britská speváčka za posledných 25 rokov.[7] Je tiež označovaná ako „jedna z najpopulárnejších britských speváčok druhej polovice 20. storočia“.[3][8][9]

V roku 1999 získala Rad britského impéria.
