Filozofický ústav Slovenskej akadémie vied, v. v. i. je jeden z ústavov Slovenskej akadémie vied.

Riaditeľom ústavu je v súčasnosti doc. Mgr. Richard Sťahel, PhD.

Filozofický ústav vznikol v roku 1946 ešte v rámci Slovenskej akadémie vied a umení. V roku 1953 sa stal súčasťou Slovenskej akadémie vied. V roku 1975 bol zlúčený so Sociologickým ústavom pod názvom Ústav filozofie a sociológie SAV. V roku 1990, keď sa oba ústavy opäť osamostatnili, vrátil sa k svojmu pôvodnému názvu.[1]

Činnosť ústavu

Ústav sa „zameriava na základný výskum v oblasti analytickej filozofie, environmentálnej filozofie, logiky a metodológie vied, sociálnej a politickej filozofie, fenomenológie, filozofickej antropológie a tiež dejín filozofického a politického myslenia na Slovensku.“[1]

Vydáva dva odborné filozofické časopisy, Filozofia, ktorá je určená pre široké odborné filozofické publikum, a Organon F, časopis zameraný na analytickú filozofiu, filozofiu vedy a logiku. Šéfredaktorom časopisu Filozofia je Jon Stewart, PhD., Dr. habil. phil. et theol. Šéfredaktorom časopisu Organon F je Mgr. Martin Vacek, PhD.
