Bióm

Bióm je veľká oblasť planéty, ktorej makroklimatické podmienky určujú typ spoločenstiev žijúcich v ňom. Bióm je teda geograficky rozsiahly ekosystém, ktorý je charakteristický určitým prevládajúcim typom vegetácie, napr. tropické dažďové lesy, tundra, préria, savana, ihličnaté a listnaté lesy mierneho podnebného pásma a pod.

Jednotlivé biómy majú osobitné formy hlavnej rastlinnej formácie, podľa ktorých rozlišujeme:
