I believe that everyone should not be stripped away of their rights to learn, for it is a universal right.

It is the catalyst for our improvement and the lack of it would mean the end of us.

In my perspective, learning should not be rigid, strict, and concrete. Rather, it should be flexible; adapting to our personality, uniqueness, and quirks.

I'm a Filipino, Wikipedian, student researcher, and volunteer. I love reading and writing, listening to music, and learning new things. I'm currently learning Spanish, Japanese, and French.

I aim to help as much as I can in improving Wikipedia and serving people useful information for free. I am highly interested in articles about history, geography, politics, and technology.

Pearl of the Orient (can be shortened as Pearls) is a 'user group' in Simple English Wikipedia dedicated on contributing to articles related to Philippines, its politics, and history. We aim to introduce the Philippines to the world, as well as its neighboring regions. I made this user group after seeing that a lot of Philippine-related articles are missing from this wiki.

The name is a direct reference to the given sobriquet (nickname or alias) in the Philippines. The sobriquet originally came from Spanish Jesuit missionary Fr. Juan J. Delgado in 1751, referred by Jose Rizal in Mi último adiós, and was included in the national anthem from the original Spanish translation.
