The Gilgit-Baltistan diaspora comprises people originating from Gilgit-Baltistan in northern Pakistan who have emigrated to other regions or countries. Gilgit-Baltistan has a multi-ethnic population which includes Shins, Baltis, Burushos, Khos, Wakhis and other groups. Some of these groups are dispersed across the neighbouring regions of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Afghanistan and China. A large number of migrants from Gilgit-Baltistan are spread out over other parts of Pakistan, principally major urban centres such as Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. In addition, some have settled in other countries. This article covers all categories of emigration from Gilgit-Baltistan.
