Mixbit was a video portal from San Mateo (California), USA. The company was founded in 2013 by YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen. It was characterized by the fact that not only the author could edit the videos, but also the entire community.[1]

When creating a video, the user could use their own video clips, photos and music. Each video consisted of several clips (each clip lasts 16 seconds) up to a total length of 256 clips (equivalent to 4096 seconds or 68 minutes and 16 seconds). The videos created could not only be shared with the Mixbit community, but also published immediately on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. The Mixbit app was available for both iOS and Android.[2]
