Umarell are old people who watch construction for fun, usually while holding their hands behind their back and giving advice to workers.[1] It means “little man”. This word is used to make fun of Umarells.

Umarell was popularized by Danilo Masotti in three books and a blog.[2] The Word was in the Italian Zingarelli dictionary in 2021[3]
