Thurbert Earl Baker (born December 16, 1952)^[2] is an American politician and lawyer. He was the first African American Attorney General of the U.S. state of Georgia. He was appointed to the position in 1997 by Governor Zell Miller^[3] and served until January 10, 2011.

In 2010, Baker ran for Governor of Georgia, however he lost in the Democratic primary to former governor Roy Barnes.^[4]
