Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors

The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors was a mythological group of demigods, rulers, and deities from ancient China.

In the stories, the Three Sovereigns were demigods that created life and humans, and gave them common skills. The Five Emperors were amazing sages who showed great personalities. They were traditionally thought to have invented fire, writing and irrigation. ^[1]

This was a golden age when "communications between the human order and the divine were central to all life" . The sages were like gods. They helped humans in messaging divine forces.^[2]
