This is a documentation subpage for Template:WCSP. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template uses the Wikidata properties:

• taxon name (P225) (see uses)
• WCSPF ID (P3591) (see uses)

Use this template to add a citation or link to the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families database (WCSP) by providing the name of a taxon.

Note: There are multiple databases provided by Kew Gardens (see this list).

If the current page has a taxon name and WCSPF id in Wikidata:

or

To link directly to a specific taxon:

{{WCSP | nameid | taxonToDisplay | validity | accessdate =<date> | mode = cs<1 or 2> }}

OR To link to a search page of matching taxa:

{{WCSP | taxon | taxonToDisplay | validity | accessdate =<date> | mode = cs<1 or 2> }}

If |mode= is not supplied, it defaults to cs1.

• taxon

The taxon to search

Ex: (for the Philyra): Philyra

• nameid

This is the last number in the URL of the taxon

Ex: http://apps.kew.org/wcsp/namedetail.do?name_id=152054

Ex: (for genus Philyra): 152054

• taxonToDisplay (optional)

The taxon name to display in the link (useful for genera that must be displayed in italic) You can include the author outside of your own italics.

(If you don't supply taxonToDisplay, the link label will be the existing PageName. Link will still work.)

Ex: (for the Philyra): ''Philyra'' Klotzsch

• validity (optional)

If the taxon is considered as unaccepted or synonym by Kew, add nv.
