So what kind of theory would you use for your music composing?
This article is full of statements which pigeonhole music into a narrow category that is completely obsolete since the 20th century at the very least, if not categorically. For instance, "If someone bangs saucepans while cooking, it makes noise. If a person bangs saucepans or pots in a rhythmic way, they are making a simple type of music." is just offensively false. Can something be done to fix this without complicating the issue, thus moving it outside the realm of simple English?
This section needs to be simplified further; there are a lot of words that are too complex for this wiki.TheBigFish (talk) 16:24, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

the article contains the following
"but some composers such as Benjamin Britten use it today, when it is necessary to get a certain feel."
Britten has been dead quite a while now, so can a different example of a 12 tone user who is writing music today be provided?

The huge section on Western classical music is not balanced by any sections on World music, Oriental music &c. Disappointing. Macdonald-ross (talk) 07:54, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
