Talk:Intergenerational conflict

i just realized that,the inter generational conflicts are the ones that are shaping the world into the wreckage it is because, when the young have no time to listen and the old have no time to say something,there is bound to be some information loss. what that means is that,the young people will start taking the wrong paths in life and what that brings is an unstable generation of young,energetic and aggressive generation. with the knowledge of life with the older one,it will be so hard for them to save what has already been done. Isn't this what has been happening? I was once in our family gathering meeting and it was a time for anyone to bring forward whatever was bothering them or an idea and i stood up,not knowing what to say but with courage,i opened my mouth an said "we are all facing problems between ourselves and i feel tat we are not to blame,us the children. the problem is with you our parents. i suggest that when any of you have a misunderstanding between you,dont drag your children in and instead try and solve the issues like grown ups,not going around telling your kids how their uncle or auntie is a bad person. the hate will affect not just the relationship between older and young but the young too" trust me,i was shouted down like i was trying to bring an end to the gathering or something but right then,i knew that i hit the nail right on the head.

my main point is,every generation has got to act up right. if respect will give us a gate pass to life's secrets that maybe the past generations have,if that will ignite the light of believing in us in the old generation,then we got to act up right as the younger generation. The older ones too have got to start believing in our abilities and stop with trying so hard to stop us from doing or going for what we want. with this balance,the rest of the conflicts including financial,which is a problem here in Africa where the older generations holds on to power and never wants to let the younger generation have a say in the making of a future goal,racial conflicts which if the older generation would have tried and created a world where race is nothing,maybe we would have followed suit and done better than that. i can go on and on but with an inter generational balance and cooperation,every other problems can find a solution.
