SummerSlam is a yearly professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event held in July or August by WWE since 1988. The event is often called "The Biggest Party of the Summer."[1] Along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series, SummerSlam is one of the "Big Four" events and was one of the original four yearly WWE pay-per-views.[2]

Madison Square Garden has hosted SummerSlam three times.

WWE released a complete DVD box set with the title SummerSlam: The Complete Anthology, which includes all the SummerSlam events, on August 5 2008.[3]
