Ste. Anne or Sainte-Anne-des-Chênes is a town in east Manitoba which is in Canada. In 2021, 2891 people lived there.[1] The Seine River flows through it. The Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne is what is around the town.

History

Ste. Anne was made when Métis people and people from Quebec came and decided to live in this area around 1852 and 1856. Ste. Anne was one of the first town to be made that is east of the Red River. In 1938, electricity was first brought to Ste. Anne because of Manitoba Hydro.[2]

In June of 1959, Ste. Anne had the worst flood in its history, people could see the water rise. The Ste.Anne Hospital had to be evacuated. The next year, the Seine River diversion project was completed to try and stop more floods from happening.[2]

In 2024 a grocery store called the Clearview Co-op Food Store was built, that helped people buy more food without leaving their town.[3]
