Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire is a third-person shooter video game. It was published by Nintendo, with LucasArts doing publishing for the PC version. It was developed by LucasArts.^[1]

The game was released on December 2, 1996 in North America and on March 1, 1997 in Europe for the Nintendo 64. It was also released on September 9, 1997 in North America and on February 3, 1998 for the Windows.^[2]

In the game, the player plays as Dash Rendar, a mercenary. The player fights through enemies to eventually try and defeat Dark Prince Xizor, the leader of a criminal organization.^[3]

Reception

The game was got mixed reviews by game critics. Critics said that they liked the graphics, music and the first Battle of Hoth.^[4][5] However, they also said that they didn't like the controls of the game, the camera, or that the levels were too repetitive.^[6]
