Richard Lamar Hawk[1] (born January 22, 1998), better known as Silentó (/ˈsaɪləntoʊ/) or Prince Silentó, is a retired American rapper, singer and convicted criminal.[2] He is best known for his first single "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)". The song charted at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100.[3]

On February 1, 2021, he was arrested in DeKalb County, Georgia and charged in the murder of his cousin, Frederick Rooks.[4] On June 11, 2025, a judge sentenced Hawk was to 30 years in prison after Hawk plead guilty but mentally ill to the charge of voluntary manslaughter. He was also given a consecutive five-year sentence for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after firing a gun in the direction of two other people.[5]
