Career

Before playing in the NHL, Durzi played four seasons with the Owen Sound Attack and one season with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

He was drafted 52nd overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2018 NHL entry draft. He never played a game for the Leafs. On January 28, 2019, the Leafs traded Durzi along with Carl Grundström and a 2019 first-round draft pick to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Jake Muzzin.[1]

On April 1, 2019, Durzi signed a two-year, $1,85 million entry-level contract to join the Kings.[2] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Ontario Reign. On July 12, 2019, Durzi signed a two-year contract to stay with the Sharks.[3]

On November 24, 2021, the Kings called him up and Durzi made his NHL debut in a 6–2 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs. During the second period, he recorded his first NHL point after assisting on a Viktor Arvidsson goal and then later in the third period, he scored his first NHL goal on the powerplay against Jack Campbell.[4] On September 15, 2022, Durzi signed a two-year contract to stay with the Kings.[5] On June 24, 2023, the Kings traded Durzi to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 2024 second-round draft pick.[6] On April 17, 2024, Durzi scored the final goal in Coyotes franchise history in a 5–2 win against the Edmonton Oilers.[7]

After the Coyotes franchise was suspended, Durzi and the rest of the roster were transferred to the new expansion team Utah Hockey Club.
