Career

Before playing in the NHL, Lindgren played two seasons with the U.S. National Development Team of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and one season with the Minnesota Golden Gophers of the Big Ten Conference (B1G).

He was drafted 49th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2016 NHL entry draft.[1] He never played a game for the Bruins. On February 25, 2018, the Bruins traded Lindgren along with Matt Beleskey, Ryan Spooner, a 2018 first-round draft pick and a 2019 seventh-round draft pick to the New York Rangers in exchange for Rick Nash.[2] On March 17, Lindgren signed a three-year, $3.3 million entry-level contract to join the Rangers.[3] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack.

On January 15, 2019, the Rangers called him up and Lindgren made his NHL debut in a 6–2 win against the Carolina Hurricanes.[4] On October 29, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Adam Fox goal in a 4–1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.[5] On November 10, Lindgren scored his first NHL goal against Sam Montembeault in a 6–5 shootout loss against the Florida Panthers.[6] On May 10, 2021, Lindgren signed a three-year, $9 million contract to stay with the Rangers.[7]

On March 1, 2025, the Rangers traded Lindgren along with Hank Kempf and Jimmy Vesey to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Juuso Pärssinen, Calvin de Haan, and both a 2025 second and fourth-round draft pick.[8] He played 18 regular season games with the Avalanche, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist. He also played 7 playoffs games with them and recorded 3 assists.

On July 1, 2025, Lindgren signed a four-year, $18 million contract to join the Seattle Kraken.[9]
