Richard Easton

John Richard Easton[1] (March 22, 1933 – December 2, 2019) was a Canadian actor. He was born in Montreal, Quebec. Easton was best known for his role as Brian Hammond in the 1970s BBC serial The Brothers.[2] He also had television guest appearances on Doctor Who, L.A. Law, Frasier, and Ed.[3][4]

In 2001, he won a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his role in The Invention of Love. In 2008, Easton was added into the American Theater Hall of Fame.[5]

Easton died on December 2, 2019 of congestive heart failure at his home in Manhattan at the age of 86.[6]
